SUBJECT: IQS Quick Tip #22 Kia Access with UVO link

UVO link is the embedded telematics system available on many Kia models (including 100% of Tellurides) that provides enhanced in-vehicle experiences and allows customers to control vehicle features from their smartphone using the Kia Access with UVO link app. Upon purchase of a new 21MY Kia vehicle with this feature, customers receive a 1-year free trial of the Ultimate package that allows customers full access to all UVO features. In order to use any of the remote services provided by UVO, the customer must enroll their vehicle in UVO.
It is important to take the extra time during the perfect delivery to enroll customers in UVO, and explain the UVO features to your customers.
Below are the steps to enroll customers in UVO:
Download the Kia Access with UVO link app
Enter VIN and request a verification code
Activate UVO in head unit
Select "I have entered code" on app

Once the customer enrolls in UVO, they can log into the Kia Access with UVO link app or the Kia Owners portal to access remote services. Some key things to keep in mind when using remote services are:
- Remote commands can be sent from both the Kia Access with UVO link app and the Kia Owners Portal
- Depending on the vehicle model and trim, customers have the option of Remote Start or Remote Start with Climate Control (if the vehicle is equipped with Fully Automated Temperature Control).
- There are multiple pre-conditions that must be met before a remote command can be executed:
- Vehicle must be locked and armed with either Key FOB or Lock command on app
- All doors, trunk, and hood must be closed
- Remote command performance is best when the app has the most up to date vehicle status. Before trying to issue a command, press the refresh icon in the center of the screen to get the current vehicle status.
- Remote command execution times may vary depending upon network availability. Please allow up to 1 minute for a remote command to execute.
