Customers will find the latest convenience features at their fingertips in Kia’s driver-centric cockpits, including an available switchable controller for climate and infotainment controls on certain vehicles. This cutting-edge feature combines both sets of controls into a common display, creating a more streamlined center console. Let’s review how to use the controls and switch between the two displays to ensure you’re ready to demonstrate this innovative feature for customers.

How to Use the Switchable Controls

The switchable controller is located on the dash button panel, right below the hazard button.

Customers will find the latest convenience features at their fingertips in Kia’s driver-centric cockpits, including an available switchable controller for climate and infotainment controls on certain vehicles. This cutting-edge feature combines both sets of controls into a common display, creating a more streamlined center console. Let’s review how to use the controls and switch between the two displays to ensure you’re ready to demonstrate this innovative feature for customers.

How to Use the Switchable Controls

The switchable controller is located on the dash button panel, right below the hazard button.

ACTION STEPS:

  1. To switch between the control panel for the Climate Control system and the Infotainment system, locate the Mode Switch button on the left center of the control screen. It will have two indicators on it.
    1. The ‘navigation arrow’ is for the infotainment controls
    2. The ‘fan’ is for the climate controls
  2. To switch controls, press the Mode Switch button.
    The opposite symbol will illuminate, and the corresponding control panel will display.

NOTE: When the vehicle is in the ACCESSORY position, only the infotainment system controls will be active. Turn the vehicle power ON to operate the Climate Control system.

Setting the Default Mode

The switchable controller can be programmed to display the customer’s preferred controls by default.

ACTION STEPS:

  1. Press and hold the Mode Switch button
  2. After several seconds, the control display screen will change, and present several options for selecting a default setting.

  1. Off — No default display; maintains last selection
  2. Infotainment
  3. Climate

    1. Press the desired option. The system will then return to the selected display when the other display times out.

Infotainment Controls

When the infotainment controls are displayed, the customer can:

  • Press the left control knob to turn the audio system On/Off
  • Adjust volume with the left control knob
  • Press the display buttons to: view map or navigation* data, access the custom button, seek radio stations, change track, view radio information, view multimedia options, and access infotainment setup

Climate Controls

When the climate controls are displayed, the customer can:

  • Press the left control knob to turn the climate system On/Off
  • Adjust temperature with the left control knob (driver) and right control knob (passenger)
  • Press the display buttons to: select Driver Only mode, activate Air Conditioning (A/C), adjust fan speed, select fan mode, activate Heat, or sync driver and passenger climate settings
  • View driver and passenger cabin temperature
