IQS Quick Tip #1

TO: Dealer Sales & Service Team

SUBJECT: IQS Quick Tip #1 – Vehicle Delivery Condition / Tire Pressure Setting (All Models)

DATE: October 2022

Please keep in mind the significant impact that the vehicle delivery condition has on our customer’s impression of the Kia brand.

Did you know that customer complaints from the GoalLine survey indicate that over 2% of Kia customers are not satisfied with the condition of their vehicle when delivered? (Source: GoalLine Survey YTD thru September 2022)

  • 0.5% of vehicles were not delivered clean
  • 1.1% of vehicles were damaged
  • 0.5% of vehicles were delivered with a mechanical issue

Ensure that every vehicle is delivered in absolutely pristine condition and with a thorough PDI:

  • Ensure all customer education materials are present: Hang tags, informational labels/cards, owner’s manual, audio manual, features and functions guide, etc.
  • Check Exterior Paint and Trim: No exterior scratches/scrapes/dings - thoroughly check all surfaces under adequate ambient light, especially bumper surfaces.
  • Guarantee Vehicle Cleanliness: No dirt or scuff marks on door trim panels, instrument panel, console, or seats/seatbacks. Clean all glass surfaces (inside and outside) thoroughly and confirm they are streak free.

Confirm that the tire pressures are set to the correct specification prior to every customer delivery to ensure the best overall driving experience for the customer. Tire pressures set above the recommended settings can negatively impact ride comfort. Low tire pressure can cause the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) warning lamp to illuminate.

Keep in mind that part of our dealer inventory storage process includes setting tire pressures at a much higher pressure than the placard (located in door jamb) to prevent tire flat spotting while stored in dealer inventory.

Prior to demonstrating the vehicle with a customer and before a customer takes ownership, the tires MUST BE SET at the listed pressure on the tire pressure (PSI) placard listed in the door jamb.

Thank you for your continued support of IQS and your attention and adherence to "Deliver your Best".

Sincerely,

Ownership Experience Team
Kia America
