SUBJECT: IQS Quick Tip #6 – Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
DATE: November 2022
This communication explains the setup procedure and some troubleshooting tips for Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are available on some 2023 models with Standard Audio infotainment systems.
Note: Apple CarPlay® is ONLY available wirelessly whereas Android Auto™ can be used wirelessly or with a USB cable.
- Android Users only: Download and install the Android Auto™ app from the Google Play™ store.
Wireless Setup Procedure:
- On the home screen (Standard Audio screen images shown below), press the 'SETUP' on-screen or 'SETUP' hard key.
- Select 'Device Connections'.


- Select 'Phone Projection' and 'Add New'


- Connect your phone through Bluetooth® and accept any requests on the phone to connect to Bluetooth®.

- Once your phone is connected through Bluetooth®, accept all the requests on your phone to connect Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ wirelessly
- Select 'OK' to enable Wireless Apple CarPlay® / Android Auto™


Troubleshooting Tips
Phone Not Responding Error:
The following message may appear on the Audio Display while using Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ in certain locations.

Troubleshooting:
iPhone® & Android™:
- Advise the customer to update their device to the latest available phone operating system version.
- For Android™: Go to Settings > Bluetooth® and delete the vehicle's device.
- For iPhone®: Go to Settings > General > CarPlay® and delete the vehicle's device.
Head unit:
- Go to SETUP > Device Connection > Bluetooth® Connections and delete all the paired devices.
- Go to SETUP > Device Connection > Phone Projection and delete all the paired devices.
Re-pair the Bluetooth® and Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ with the vehicle head unit and customer's phone.

SUBJECT: IQS Quick Tip #7 – Smart Key - Remote Start (2023 MY Forte, Stinger, Carnival, Telluride, Sorento, K5, Soul, Seltos, Sportage, EV6, Niro (if equipped))
DATE: November 2022
Some 2023 MY Forte, Stinger, Carnival, Telluride, Sorento, K5, Soul, Seltos, Sportage, EV6, and Niro are equipped with factory-installed remote start. The Smart Key fob gives you the power to start or stop the engine at the push of a button (4) or lock (1) and unlock (2) doors from the outside.


As part of the perfect delivery, please demonstrate and explain the operation of the Smart Key Remote Start.
TO OPERATE THE REMOTE START FEATURE:
- Close and lock all doors.
- Press the Remote Start button for more than two (2) seconds within four (4) seconds after locking doors.
- Press once again to turn vehicle off.
KEY REMINDERS:
- The Remote Start feature will not operate when a door is open or unlocked.
- The Remote Start feature will not operate when the hood is open.

After remote starting, the vehicle will run for 10 minutes before turning off.
- On some models, vehicle may turn off after opening door(s) if brake pedal input is not detected.
- Do not use Remote Start if the vehicle is in an enclosed area (e.g., closed garage) or a partially enclosed area without ventilation. Close all doors leading from adjacent living areas to the vehicle area before executing a Remote Start command.
