There’s a lot to cover at delivery, but first and foremost, you need to be sure the customer understands how to charge their new 2022 Niro EV. Let’s look at the three levels of charging as well as how to find public charging stations using navigation* and the Kia Access* App.
Niro EV Charging Options
Be sure to review all three levels of EV charging options with your customers.
Level 1*
120V charging that uses a typical household outlet and takes approximately 60 hours to fully charge the vehicle; Niro EV comes standard with a Level 1 Charging* cable.
NOTE: Never use an extension cord with a Level 1 Charging* cable.
Level 2*
240V charging that requires installation of a Level 2 charger* takes approximately 9.5 hours to fully charge*.
NOTE: This is the Kia recommended method for charging the Niro EV.
DC Fast*
480V DC Fast Charger* can’t be installed at home, only available at commercial sites or public charging stations
60 minutes to 80% charge*, not recommended for daily charging

Customers may not know that they can use the available navigation* system to find charging for their Electrified Vehicle (PHEV or BEV). Explain how customers can use navigation* to search for nearby public charging stations, and mention that they can also use the Kia Access* App to find charging stations.
The navigation* system is designed to help customers get to their destinations with ease, but when driving a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) or Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), customers will also need to know where nearby public charging stations are located. Kia’s navigation* has built-in functionality to guide customers to charging stations.
Action Steps:
Explain that the navigation* system can guide customers not only to addresses they enter, but also to nearby charging stations.
Explain that if the customer is in an unfamiliar neighborhood or city, finding charging using navigation* takes the pressure off the driver when looking to charge their Electrified Vehicle (PHEV or BEV).
Show customers how to operate the navigation* menu to find charging.
Explain that customers can also use the Kia Access* App on their phones to just as easily find charging. Customers will require Kia Connect* enrollment to access these features.
Explain that most public charging stations provide Level 2 Charging*; some may offer DC Fast Charging*.

DC Fast Charging: Charging times will vary with options, vehicle maintenance, charging practice, battery age, weather, temperature, and your vehicle’s condition. Frequent use of DC fast charging can negatively impact battery performance and durability, and Kia recommends minimizing use of DC fast charging. Battery capacity will decrease with time and use.
